Superb Photojournalism

This photograph, (c) Reuters, appeared in The Independent newspaper today. In my opinion this is a fantastic piece of photojournalism. At first sight it breaks the first rule of composition – don’t put your subject in the centre of the frame – but breaking the rules works in this case. The emergency vehicle on the left and the bomb damaged car on the right, along with the background smoke heighten the tension.
Also note the incongruity of guys in clean, white, business shirts in the background.
The more I look at the photograph the more I see, like the blown out car speaker on the ground.
